Medications for Alcohol Use Disorder
March 6, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
In the United States, nearly 15 million people ages 12 years and older experience alcohol use disorder (AUD), yet less than 10% of people with an AUD receive any form of treatment (National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 2019). This training, Medications for Alcohol Use Disorder, will discuss the prevalence and severity of AUD in the United States, review Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome and Delirium Tremens (DT), and provide training participants with critical information on FDA-approved medications to treat AUD.
