Ayorkor Gaba, PsyD

Ayorkor Gaba, PsyD, is the Director of the Equity Division in the CoE. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UMass Chan, Director of the Behavioral Health Equity Advancement Lab (B-HEAL), and she has been a CoE faculty member since 2016. Dr. Gaba’s research aims to inform programs, practices, and policies to eradicate behavioral health and health care disparities, foster structural change, and enhance community engagement. She is a researcher and clinical psychologist whose current work is at the intersection of health equity, behavioral health, and the criminal legal system. Dr. Gaba advocates for mental health equity domestically and internationally as an American Psychology Association appointed representative to the United Nations.
