This guide to starting and operating an Adult Drug Court in Massachusetts aims to:

1. To identify the basic principles of evidence-based best practices applicable to Adult Drug Court in the Commonwealth;
2. To assist a certification process applicable to Adult Drug Courts in the Commonwealth;
3. To identify resources to assist existing Adult Drug Courts in enhancing their practices and to prepare for the certification process; and
4. To identify resources to assist new Adult Drug Courts in establishing programs that comply with evidence-based best practices and meet certification requirements.
